French Country Potpourri: Wandering a Northwest trade show one winter, we were stopped dead in our tracks. Where were the warm, delicate clouds of scent coming from? We soon found the source on a simple country table --colorful, fragrant potpourris, heaped in enameled basins and buckets as they might be at a French market. Here were mounds of rosebuds, blue larkspur and lavender blossoms, citrus and apple ribbons and slices, cinnamon sticks and tiny scented leaves. The fragrances were exquisite. We all agreed we must have this wonderful stuff for our customers.
